"It just doesn't seem like we should be here."

Those were my words to Cody this morning as we walked into the oncology office for the beginning of round 2. He is so full of energy and joy today!

Our day started at 6am. Cody had a 90 minute physical therapy appt beginning at 7:30am (who opens that early?!) and then a 9:30 oncology appt. On our way to PT, we got a flat tire. Thankfully, Cody was able to change it himself.

He's doing so good today, except for some pain in his right hip. As you can see from the picture, his hair is growing so much. It has really boosted his confidence level. He's pretty bummed that it might fall out again soon. Thank God though, he never lost his eye brows or eye lashes during the last cycles! They thinned out a little, but never fell out completely. Please pray the same this time. Hey, lets even pray that Cody's hair won't fall out. I mean, He's God.. He can do anything, right?

We had a pretty incredible day at church yesterday. Walt and Cheryl Hildebrand, a couple that Cody went to Brazil with in 2006 were visiting from Bethel. We got lots of prayer... and nevermind, I had a huge meltdown and a horrible headache afterwards. But it felt good to let it all out - again.

A few prayer requests:
  • protection over Cody's bladder (he has to empty his bladder every 2 hrs this week because one of the drugs can be pretty harsh)
  • for both of us to have renewed strength, hope, and joy
  • the pain in Cody's hip

Look at that hair! It really is coming back good. He's darn near a hippie. Don't despair--the one thing about hair is that it always comes back. Toni's came back even thicker!
