The Booney is doing pretty good. He managed to keep dinner down last night, praise God... but breakfast this morning, not so much.

We're in the infusion room now starting our marathon week of chemo. This is cycle 7, which basically means Cody has had 7 months of chemo...whew! The protocol calls for 8 cycles all total, so we're hoping and praying fervently that next month is the last of it.

Looking back, Cody has done amazingly well with all the harsh drugs. I know this is directly because so many of you are constantly praying for him.

The nurse was a little concerned when we told her about the constant vomiting, so the doctor has ordered a CT scan for tomorrow morning. Cody has been trying a wide variety of pain med's over the past 5 days, all of which cause nausea and vomiting. Soooo I'm just hoping that's the only reason he's been so sick lately.

His energy level is pretty low too and he's been sleeping a lot. The pain in his back hasn't gotten any better, nor has the numb elbow.

I shared in church yesterday about our time in Lakeland and got to pray for people afterwards. It was humbling, as well as eye opening. Honestly, when we were in Lakeland, all I could focus on was Cody's healing and our miracle that I had a hard time pressing in. So I didn't really feel like I "got some" or had anything to impart to others. But God showed up strong on my behalf.

Please pray for us this week as Holy Spirit leads. A few major prayer requests though are...

  • for Cody to stop vomiting
  • that this week will be relatively easy with no side effects from the drugs
  • continued protection over Cody's bladder from the nasty chemo

And one other request is that when Cody and I left Mexico back in December, we left behind our Jeep with pretty much everything we own inside. Summer clothes, wedding gifts, books, etc. We're planning to fly down to La Paz the first week in July and drive up. I'll be doing all the driving while Cody kicks back in the passenger seat :) He really wants to make this trip and I actually think it'll be a good for him to have a little adventure. Please pray that everything goes well this week and that we're able to get to Mexico before gas prices get anymore ridiculous. Fortunately, gas in Mexico is still only $2.50!
