One of my dear husbands favorite things to do is lean back in his chair... you know, just like we all used to do in elementary school until the teacher told us to put the chair down?
Pretty much everytime Cody's in a chair with 4 legs, there he goes... balancing on 2 of them. He actually has amazing balance, thanks to all those years of surfing and skateboarding.
Anyway, the fact that he just had neck / back surgery never fazes him... nor the fact that his bones have been thru so much over the past 7 mths and they just might not be quite as strong as they used to be.
Everytime he leans back in a chair, I can't watch! I ask him to put the chair down but he doesn't listen :) and says something like.. "Oh, but it's so comfortable!"
Soooo.. yeah, you've probably guessed by now where I'm going with this.
Last night we were having a BBQ with the Spahr's ... and Cody immediately sat down in one of the folding chairs, you know the kind you see at weddings. Instead of one of the big, heavy wooden chairs because he knew he wouldn't be able to lean back in one of those.
Long story short.. we're all having dinner, Cody's back on 2 legs, and little Mic (the dog) somehow ends up kind of under Cody's chair. All of a sudden, Mic raises up sending Cody flying backwards!
The first word that comes out of my mouth is ... "SHIIIIIT!!!!" Oops!
I jump out of my seat, of course saying "Cody, I told you not to lean back in your chair!" :)
I helped him up off the ground .. which was concrete, by the way... and by this time, I'm totally in tears. Watching him fall backwards, after months of asking him not to was so traumatizing for me... seriously.
Thank You, God.. Cody is totally fine.. nothing hurt except a scraped elbow and maybe a bruised ego :)

Boys will be boys! Travis, Zechariah, my nephews all do the same thing and it drives me crazy. They have actually broken so many chairs, but they still do it. I just don't get what is so great about it. I am glad Cody is ok and you too. :)
