Update

Yesterday was definitely one of the hardest days since Cody's diagnosis.

After a few MRI's, we now know the culprit for all of Cody's upper back pain. T2 fracture! This is the area just to the left of his shoulder blade. The fracture is also putting some pressure on his spinal cord.. hence incredible pain! This was not caused by the fall he had a few days ago. It's been there for atleast a month. But it is definitely the cause of all the problems Cody has been having on the left side... the weakness, numbness, droopy eye, small pupil... all are related to the thoracic area.

Cody went down for emergency radiation last night. I say emergency, because the Cancer Center was totally closed and they had to call in a couple of doctors and warm up the machines.

The plan is to avoid another major surgery by radiating the area for the next 10 days, possibly 15 days. We'll stay at Stanford the entire time. Right now we're actually in the hospital, but I'm hoping to talk with a social worker today to set up housing for us.

Cody was in excruciating pain until about 2:30 this morning and couldn't sleep at all. He's been getting pain med's every 2 hrs, but now the plan is to increase the strength.

We also learned yesterday that the "something" on the brain has turned out to infact be something. But the areas are small and are not of great concern at the moment. The most important thing right now is getting Cody out of pain and radiating T2.

Tumor marker levels... HGC is down to -1 and the AFP is now at 29 (from 17 about 3 wks ago).

So yeah, this is where we are as of right now. Obviously, the bone marrow/stem cell transplant has been put on hold.
