i don't ever read the 'fortune', but i always eat the yummy cookie goodness :)
last week, after having lunch at the China Buffet, here came the bill with a pile of fortune cookies on top. i grabbed one, opened it up, popped some cookie into my mouth, and then read the 'fortune'.
"if you want to learn to love people, start with the one you hate"
wow. sounds a lot like Jesus' words in Matthew 5:44. "but i say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that hate you, and pray for them that which despitefully use you, and persecute you..."
i tucked the little piece of paper away in my wallet as a reminder that God can speak thru anything. even things that i had deemed "wrong" or "evil". i'm sure i won't make it a habit of reading fortune cookies, but i believe that God can and will speak to us in and thru ways we never imagined, if we only open our eyes and allow Him to.

Amy, I pray for you daily, & will continue while you are travelling. Blessings & travel mercies rest on you, grace and much joy, and always the assurance of Jesus' indwelling Spirit.
I'm so with you about not really "reading" those fortune cookies....but it does seem like that was one wise lil' cookie! :)
We are praying for a safe journey and a BIG adventure!
