the mind of a 4 yr old American

so today i got to babysit the daughter of my boss' assistant. it turned out to be a real breath of fresh air. she was quite possibly the coolest 4 yr old i've met in a long time! her name is Ariana, from Los Angeles.

as we were driving to the park to meet up with friends who were coming to play too, we got separated from them en route. much to Ariana's dismay.

our conversation went like this:

Ariana: can't you just call them?

me: i don't have their phone #

Ariana: well can't we just follow them?

me: i don't know where they went

Ariana: well can't you just email them?

me: from the car??

Ariana: yeah, with your phone. my mommy does it all the time.

me: i don't have that option on my phone (the day i start emailing from a phone, somebody smack me)

Ariana: why??

emailing from the phone seemed like second nature to her and when i couldn't do it, that just didn't settle right in her little 4 yr old mind :) sooo glad i'm not "with it", technologically speaking.

we ended up finding our friends and enjoyed an hour in the sandbox.
