today is my last day in s. fla. it's been raining and thunder storming off and on all day. i like it. it gives me a good reason to stay inside catching up on long over due email responses and reading a little.

i just spent the past hour and a half catching up on a friends blog. check them out here if you're interested. they're in the process of adopting 2 little brothers from Ethiopia. their story has overwhelmed my heart. i am filled with much hope, joy, and love for them. and so in awe of how God has worked to prepare their hearts. although they already have 3 biological children, God has had them downsizing, simplifying their lives. that is what makes me cry tears of joy!

"live simply so that others may simply live" - unknown

God bless you, Joe & Heather!

on another note, i'm so amped to be flying to Mexico tomorrow. my flight leaves Orlando around 5pm to Mexico City. i have a short layover there, then arrive in Monterrey around 10:15pm. i havent been home in almost 3 yrs!! (Cody and I were in Baja last summer, but when i say 'home', i'm referring to all of the mainland)

i'm planning to spend a week in Nueva Esperanza, a small village on the outskirts of Monterrey, with friends. i lived there in '06 for 3 mths. as far as i know, no one in the village is speaking fluent English and my one American friend is in the states right now so this outta be real interesting. my spanish is no where near perfect. anyway, im up for the challenge and very much looking forward to expanding my vocab.

a lot of unknowns and uncertainties lie ahead of me. i don't know what little surprises God might have planned, but i'm open. so open. desperate even to be used by Him.

please pray that i would be extra sensitive to holy spirit and his leading. and that i would obey no matter what the cost.
