A few days ago i was reading thru one of my journals from '06. in the beginning of the year, i had applied to do a School Of Intercession in NE India with YWAM.
the plan was to travel to Nepal in May '06 to attend a friend's wedding, then hang around for a couple mths until the school started in Sept '06.
i went to Nepal and spent 2 incredible weeks in Kathmandu and Chitwan.
i remember sitting in a dark, dusty internet cafe in Kathmandu one evening reading an email from the directors of the SOI. they had been praying for me and felt like God was saying that it wasn't the right time for me to do the school. i was so bummed! i felt for sure that God had told me yes. but i knew the leaders of the school, respected them, and knew that they had heard from God. so i thought maybe He was just changing the plan a little bit.
anyway, i ended up coming back to the States... and a few mths later met Cody!!
so you see, if the leaders of the school hadn't sought God on my behalf, i would've gone to school and most likely missed meeting Cody.
i'm just pretty blown away by how He worked all that out. in the midst of it, i couldn't see why He had said no... but now, looking back, I'm so glad He did!! i just love this story.. and the sovereignty of God.

here's a picture of Cody hangin' out with some little Nepali babes who live on the street. i think they're eating nuts. ("coincidentally", Cody ended up going on a trip to Nepal 7 mths after me)

God is such a wonderful Daddy! He takes such good care of us! Some day, all our "whys" will make sense and we will see, as we look back, just how these things that happen to us changed our lives for the better. Thanks again for sharing. I'm sure this will encourage a lot of us who are dealing with the "nos" and "Not yets" in our lives!
I love this pic--soooo him and Him!
