What a day!

Go grab yourself a cup of tea and have a seat for this one. God is simply amazing!

It was such a fight to get out of bed this morning. It was the day I had been dreaming of for months and I couldn't even get up! "Lord, please help me!" I moaned outloud. I managed to get myself in the shower and then made a cup of earl grey to wake me up.

Cody already settled it in his mind that he was staying in bed. 15 minutes before leaving for church, we took communion together and I silently prayed that it would give him the little boost he needed to get up. It worked! The saltine and Welch's grape juice (only the finest!) tasted so good going down... how could you not wanna get up after that?

"I'm awake!" Cody smiled and climbed out of bed. Thank You, Jesus.

About 3/4's of the way to church, Cody tells me that his stomach doesn't feel good. I pray for him and we keep driving. Minutes later, he starts gagging and I pull the car over right on the side of the road. In farm country. It was so stinkin' beautiful. No pun intended :)

He proceeds to empty his stomach of the morning's breakfast along with all of the medicine he had just taken. What a bummer, I thought to myself. It was the first time he had thrown up in weeks! I told him we could go back home if he wanted to, but he said no. So we pressed on.

As I drove, I was reminded of a testimony I heard a few months ago. An associate pastor from a church in CA was having problems with his colon. A couple days before he was scheduled to see a specialist, a guy walked up to him at church and prayed for him. He didn't even feel anything while the guy was praying for him. Days later, the specialist couldn't find anything wrong with his colon. God had healed him on the spot!

I silently asked God to send us someone who has a testimony to pray for Cody today. Just like that pastor in CA.

While at church, Pastor Todd, called us up to the front for the laying on of hands, prayers of faith, prophetic utterances, and anointing with oil. It was so beautiful. After everyone had finished praying for us, a man in the back stands up and walks to the front and whispers something in Todd's ear. A few minutes later, he was standing behind Cody with one arm wrapped around him sharing a testimony.

I think his name was John and he is an EMS and recently responded to a call for a guy who had pancreatic cancer. He arrived at his home and found the guy on the floor. He was dead. They put him in the ambulance and proceeded to give him CPR. Anything to try to revive him. Nothing was working. John kept hearing the voice of the Lord telling him to pray for the guy. As he started praying, the monitor started beeping. The guy totally came back to life! Resurrected.

John prayed for Cody - and I felt that it was God answering my little prayer. He sent someone with a testimony to pray for Cody today!

We are so encouraged and so thankful that we didn't turn around and go back home this morning. The enemy tried to discourage us and fought to keep us from this divine appointment that God had set up for us.

By the way, John told us that he rarely ever even goes to church. But this morning, he woke up and felt to go.

Coincidence? I don't think so! Sounds more like a God-incidence to me :)

Hey you two!!! As much as I (selfishly) wanted to see you at Biltmore, you were in the right place this morning for worship. These challenges are before both of us. Tommy has had bleeding and pain this weekend -- I will call the doctor in the morning. So many things remain a mystery - I get discouraged too. However, I am constantly reminded that "God will never forsake me or leave me." I am trusting in that promise. I pray that you will trust too. We have many promises - how are we going to use them? Sometimes, I loose my focus but I am trying so hard in my discouraging weekend. You are too, and God is blessing all four of us. I just pray that I see the blessings and that I praise Him for his presence in my own life and for sure in the lives of Tommy, Cody, and Amy!!! I love you guys and am traveling this journey as best as I can, though the road is rocky sometimes!! My love and prayers. Mama B
