Rivers of Living Water

"He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow

rivers of living water" - John 7:38

While in Mexico, Cody and I stopped by Rios De Agua Viva (Rivers of Living Water). This is the church that we would've been working with had we been able to stay in Todos Santos. It blessed our hearts so much to worship with our Mexican brothers and sisters. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip!

After the service, Pastor Joel came and prayed for Cody. He anointed Cody with oil, placed his hands on his belly, and prayed a powerful prayer to Jesus. Then he shared a testimony with us... remember why? Because the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. (Rev. 19:10)

An older Catholic lady from the town had been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Her family and friends suggested she go down to the church to see if she could find a witch doctor. Let me just say that Catholicism in Mexico is A LOT different than Catholicism in the US. Often times it's mixed with 'magic' and witch craft. Anyway, the lady shows up at church.. Pastor Joel and a few others prayed for her and she left feeling better.

A few days later she went to the doctor and was found to be totally cancer free! The next sunday, she goes back to church along with her entire family! Glory to God!

Isn't it amazing how she went there looking for a witch doctor, but instead had a supernatural encounter with the Great Physician?! I love it!


The church reminded us a lot of a YWAM base. They have about 3 acres... with a few travel trailers (or campers) which is where Pastor Joel and Alicia live with their 2 children. They raise cows, goats, sheep, ducks, chickens, and pigs... all for food. The cows are milked every morning... which is also how they get their cheese.

Pastor Joel and Alicia's passion is to see people restored and healed (spiritually, physically, and mentally). We met an 18 yr old guy named Abraham who lives at the church. He grew up in Mexico City, got into drugs... and shared with us that when he took drugs he would see demons. One day, his Christian uncle called to pray for his mom over the phone. While she was being prayed for, Abraham saw demons disfiguring her face. She was totally set free over the phone! Afterwards, Abraham wanted to know this same Jesus who had just healed his mom. Abraham is now serving Jesus and wants to be a missionary!



The church just finished a 40 day fast. What were they seeking God for? More of His glory! They want to see more of the supernatural...miracles, healings, etc. Pastor told us about a little 4 yr old girl in the church who had said to her dad.. "daddy, I wanna go where the angels are.. the angels with flaming swords!"

She was talking about the church. She had seen angels there and wanted to go back. Awesome!
