Here's a little excerpt that spoke to my heart last night.
"To be grateful for the good things that happen in our lives is easy, but to be grateful for all of our lives - the good as well as the bad, the moments of joy as well as the moments of sorrow, the successes as well as the failures, the rewards as well as the rejections - that requires had spiritual work. Still, we are only grateful people when we can say thank you to all that has brought us to the present moment. As long as we keep dividing our lives between events and people we would like to remember and those we would rather forget, we cannot claim the fullness of our beings as a gift of God to be grateful for. Let's not be afraid to look at everything that has brought us to where we are now and trust that we will soon see in it the guiding hand of a loving God."
So as I sit here with my ever quickly cooling cup of Irish Breakfast and stare off into the distance at that funny lookin' rooster who seems to hate his cage (wouldn't you?!), I can honestly say that I'm thankful. I'm grateful for the 2 yrs that God gave Cody to me. Grateful for all the sweet times we shared together - before and after cancer.
I know God loves me. He loves you too - deeply and passionately! Our finite minds cannot fathom how much He loves us. So much so that He chose the road less traveled; the road that led Him to the cross. For everything you've ever done amiss, there is forgiveness in the name of Jesus. For every longing in your heart, Jesus is the answer. He beckons us to come - not to a life of boredom and unhappiness, but to life that is truly life. He invites us to share in His dreams, His adventures, His plans and His purposes. He is a radical God - longing for the hearts of man - and that includes YOURS.
"Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live" Isaiah 55:3a

Thank you. I've been wanting to read a good book and That is one to read again and again! You are constantly in my thoughts and prayers. May He continue to speak to your hurting heart as only He can! Love from a Ragamuffin sister in California!

Well, I was in the emotional pits today and as usual, in your darkest and deepest sorrow, you have "pulled me up". Thank you for sharing your heart with an older lady who admires your courage and your love for Jesus.
Praying for you,
Mama B
Ah....that is so true. All the things we live make up our life--not just the pleasant and comfortable things. When we view life as if only the good parts count, we're counting out the other parts that also teach--and sometimes half of our lives! Thank you for the reminder that all of our lives count!
Amy ...you have an such an encouragement to me!! You are in my prayers. Thank you for blogging and being consistent, even though i'm sure there are times you don't want to write!!! Be blessed today.
Well said. I am sorry for your loss. I know how it feels to lose someone you love. I promise the days will be better and God's perfect plan in all of it will be revealed. Keep standing next to Him, like it is obvious that you are.
